END OF 2024 RECAP
I know most end of year recaps happened at the end of last year, and most new year newsletters were sent at the start of this year, but, the end of last year was a hard one for me, and it’s still January, and I just got back from vacation, so what is time anyway?
THE LAST HOPE SCHOOL FOR MAGICAL DELINQUENTS published!
I can’t believe I haven’t written a newsletter since my middle grade novel debuted! It came out on October 1, 2024, and I’m so super proud of it. It’s all the cozy, funny, found family mischief I could cram into a book, and I hope you’ll give it a shot!

Southern Festival of Books
I was so lucky to be able to attend the Southern Festival of Books in Nashville, doing an incredible school visit and panel with fellow MG authors. Here are some gorgeous, very professional looking photos taken by author Adam Rosenbaum’s wife:
I walked around the city (Nashville is amazing) and the festival, seeing other panels and buying signed books. Such a fun time!
Arlene Barlin Award for Science Fiction and Fantasy
BONESMITH was nominated for an award in Canada, and it WON! I was so incredibly surprised and honored. CROWN OF FEATHERS received some award nominations, but this is my first win, and I got to dress up and go to an award ceremony and everything. What a truly humbling night, and LOOK, my book as a sticker on it, like the fancy ones!!
It was truly such an amazing experience, and a lovely reminder that you never know, even a year after publication, where your books might take you :)
GHOSTSMITH named an Indigo Best Book of the Year

2025 UPDATES
I just got back from a vacation/writing retreat in Mexico, and leaving the sun and sand for polar vortex freezing temperatures was not a good time. But the trip was beautiful and productive! Working on my Next Thing and hoping I can share more soon. In the meantime, here are some pics of exactly where I wish I was right now:

I am so super excited that I will be in conversation with Kristen Ciccarelli on March 7 in Kitchener, Ontario, for the release of REBEL WITCH, the highly anticipated (by me, and everyone) sequel to HEARTLESS HUNTER.
